Main purpose of role:

Key responsibilities and results areas:

Tunstall Response operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The response centre provides a monitoring and emergency service via a bespoke Tunstall developed computer system, ensuring fast access to essential information. Using this information a decision will be made on the appropriate action to be taken. Although most of the clients are elderly, infirm or disabled residents, there is an increasing trend to provide support for domestic violence schemes, illnesses such as dementia and out of hours property repair calls.

This role will answer and respond to calls via the telephone, providing a service to local and police authorities, housing associations and individuals. The level of service provided to an organisation can vary from full support, out of normal office hours support or disaster recovery. Additionally the response centre manages social alarm calls as well as out of hours calls for emergency property/utility repairs for various housing associated tenants.

 

We are very keen to hear from candidates with previous experience within a similar environment, particularly dealing with difficult, challenging or emergency situations.

Knowledge, skills and experience competencies:

Communication is key to the success of this role which includes a calm, sympathetic and decisive approach. We are very keen to hear from efficient and flexible individuals with the ability to adapt to changing situations, environments, tasks as well as most importantly people and personalities.

IT skills are an absolute must to this position – candidates must be IT literate as well as proficient / confident using software and systems.

This role is extremely rewarding however highly challenging, therefore we are keen to speak to determined, team focused individuals with the ability to perform at a constant level whilst under pressure.

Please Note: It is vitally important that you are committed and able to work the hours/shift pattern as stated above as well as additionally having the ability and means to attend work at times which will include weekends and bank/public holidays.
